2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Services.

Account information: name, email address, business name, and business type.
Identity verification: Employer Identification Number (EIN). EINs are hashed using a one-way algorithm immediately upon receipt and are never stored in plaintext.
Documents: Certificates of Insurance, licenses, I-9s, W-9s, contracts, and other files you upload to the Services.
Scan data (BuildSuiteScan): Room scan files, photos, and project data you create or upload.
Payment information: Billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, device type, and crash reports.
Communications: Support emails and messages you send us.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide, operate, and improve the Services.
To authenticate your account and prevent unauthorized access.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To send transactional emails (account confirmations, document notifications, expiration alerts).
To respond to support requests.
To analyze product usage and improve the user experience.

4. Third-Party Services

MongoDB Atlas — hosted database for application data.
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
Postmark — transactional email delivery.
PostHog — product analytics and event tracking.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and documents for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, hashed identifiers, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Delete your account and associated data.
Export your data in a portable format.
